Introduction
As a part of a self-directed project, I designed the layout and did illustration works for the poem which was shared by word of mouth, e-mailed from reader to reader, recited over the radio, and read aloud at thousands of retreats and conferences.
Illustrations
For illustrations, I used the same technique as my "Cat Quotes" booklet project. Suiboku-ga(水墨画) is a painting expressed in black ink, but it is a simple yet delicate form of expression that makes full use of shading, blurring, blotting, blotting, gradation, and the strength of the brush's movement. With this approach, I thought it will be a great match with the poetry and enhance her powerful message.
